Jotul fireplaces are timeless

Jotul fireplaces are a firm favourite among interior designers wishing to bring an air of sophistication and traditional fireplace qualities to a room. The Jotul range of closed combustion wood stoves are manufactured with cast iron and a range of these are enamelled. The Jotul F3TD, F8TD, F162, F163, F305LL, F305, F305B and F400 are all wood burning options whilst the Jotul F3MF is a multi-fuel system.

A multi-fuel system burns both wood and smokeless fuels such as anthracite and peat or turf. A multi-fuel system is not more effective than a wood burning one, they are both effective models of heating. The only difference between a wood and a multi-fuel model is that the latter is able to burn more than just wood or logs. There are structural changes within such models that allow for the use of multi-fuels, other than that – they warm areas just a well as their wood burning counterparts.

The Jotul range combines style and technology to bring the best in heating systems to the home. Go with a classic design and look or a modern and sophisticated stove that enhances any room it is placed in.

Factors influencing the heating ability of a Jotul fireplace

Maintaining your fireplace, even in the months they are not in use, is important to extend the lifespan of your investment. Here are a few considerations when it comes to maintaining your fireplace.
The heating area of a closed combustion fire heating system depends on the area it is placed in. There are certain factors that will either increase or decrease the heating ability of a well-placed fireplace.
Factors that hamper heating ability:
  • Poor or no insulation within a roof.
  • An abundance of glass windows within a room.
  • Poorly sealed windows or doors which allow drafts into a room.
  • Steel fitted windows and frames.
  • Poorly fitted cornices.
  • Sky lights.
  • Tiled floors.
  • Double volume ceilings.
  • Open fireplace chimneys.
Factors that aid heating ability:
  • Smaller or less windows within an area.
  • Double glazed windows.
  • Proper roof insulation.
  • Well fitted windows and doors.
  • Wooden or aluminium window frames.
  • Double story.
  • Carpeted floors.
