Why A Closed System Fireplace?

Heat output vs fuel input is outstanding on a slow combustion heater. Conventional open fireplaces provide 20% heat on 80% fuel and is generally inefficient. Closed system fireplaces (slow combustion) provide 80% heat on 20% fuel and are extremely efficient heat generators. The rate of combustion is totally controlled with adjustable air intakes. This ensures hours of cosy heat with one load of fuel. Although the initial cost of closed system fireplaces is higher than open steel fireplaces, the saving is doubled in the long run with low fuel cost and no need for additional heating in the area i.e. electric heaters, gas roll around heater, etc.

My House Already Has A Chimney, Can I Connect A New Stove To It?

What Is The Difference Between An Open Fire And A Closed Stove?

Nowadays wood stoves and fires have extremely high outputs and very good combustion rates. The models are well thought out and ensure the wood is burned as efficiently and cleanly as possible. What Does Multi-Fuel Mean?

Many closed system fireplaces offer the option of burning wood, anthracite and coal, and others are only wood-burners. Wood is preferred in many cases as it is much cleaner than anthracite. One load of anthracite with the correct damper settings can burn for up to 12 hours but must be cleaned at the same time as it is next loaded.
